Relinquishing a Westie to WROC
Family circumstances change all too often, new baby, moving, domestic break-up, work commitments, going into care, death in the family, financial concerns, or any multitude of reasons why the dog can no longer receive the company, exercise or time which it deserves. We understand that due to life circumstances beyond your control, you may find the need to surrender your Westie into our Rescue Program. It is a great act of selflessness to give up your dog during a particular crisis. We never underestimate this fact and want to make the process go as smoothly as possible for you and the dog. Be assured that we are here to help you and your Westie.

Volunteer
Volunteering strengthens our community by making it easier for good people and good causes to connect. Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond is not only about dogs. We are a community that believes in the power of volunteering to enrich our lives and the world around us. We believe that in order to be strong, a community must be constantly evolving and increasingly active in worthwhile causes such as WROC.
We are hoping that you will be inspired by the powerful culture of volunteerism. Are you: retired, an empty nester, do you want to use your skills for a worthwhile cause, do you want to make a difference? If you do, we invite you into our WROC family.
Volunteering offers great rewards
Be part of the solution. You will join a community of people working to make the world safe and more humane for all living creatures. You'll make the jobs of everyone working for animals a little easier by lending a hand and spreading the message of responsible pet ownership and animal protection.
Give back to the community. Volunteering gives you the opportunity to gain ideas to promote animal welfare, inspire others and teach compassion. Why not make it a family affair? Volunteering together as a family is a wonderful way of creating a special bond and lasting memories for families.
Feel good. You will never find a more grateful and accepting comrade than an animal you have comforted. Your kindness and compassion is something a rescued dog has never known, and you will be the first to show him/her that humans do care.
Gain a sense of achievement. As a volunteer you can gain important transferable skills in fundraising, campaigning, finance, team building, management, computers, administration – the list is endless. And you may be surprised at what you are capable of achieving. Employers and college admissions officers look favorably on time spent in volunteer service.
Keep good company. You will make lots of new friends—and not just the four-legged kind. Working side by side with people who share similar interests can forge lifelong friendships. We are a fun group! Our volunteers make a huge contribution to the work we do to prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of animals. Volunteering with WROC is a great way to meet like minded people who share the same enthusiasm for animal welfare.
