Dad Michael writes “Thank you Westie Rescue of Orange County for saving this little cutie. He’s a tiny guy with a big personality. We’re going to have so much fun together.”

WINSTON’S ORIGINAL STORY: I was wasting away at the county shelter when WROC came for me. I am a 1-2 year old “teacup” Westie. I am a little guy at 8 pounds but I have 20 pounds worth of personality & confidence. I may be tiny, but I am mighty!! I dance for my dinner, love walking in the park & I just love squeaky toys. I am neutered, microchipped & my shots are current. XOXO Winston

Petunia, Forever Fostered 2021

Petunia is now a WROC Forever Foster & will be staying with Diana. She will be well cared for by WROC for the rest of her life. She is happy and thankful for her forever home.

PETUNIA’S ORIGINAL STORY: This sweet little lady was relinquished to a shelter because she was sick.  Petunia was in tremendous pain, would not eat, drink and our vet was unable to examine her mouth, and her blood work was not good. To our surprise, Petunia had at least 100 foxtails imbedded in her mouth. All were removed as well as 30 teeth.  This little lady is a survivor and we are so thankful she is with WROC.

Penny was adopted by Vicki and it is a match made in heaven. Our 2 girls are very happy and taking very good care of each other!

PENNY’S ORIGINAL STORY: My owner dropped me off at the county shelter because she could not care for me. I was very Lucky that the shelter contacted WROC and I happily jumped in the car when my rescue angel came for me. My left eye was damaged and had to be removed but I can still catch flies right out of the air. I like walking in the park & sitting in your lap. I am leash & crate trained. I am a Cairn Terrier mix, spayed, 6-7 years old & 14 pounds.

Chase, now Archie, Adopted October 2021

Archie was adopted by Michele & Gordon. We are happy to report that everyone in the family is just delighted with this adoption!

CHASE’S ORGINAL STORY: This handsome fellow had a guardian Angel watching over him. His owner moved and left him behind. His Angel found him wandering the streets & found that he had been abandoned, so she brought him to WROC. Chase was filthy and matted so we had to shave him down. He is now current on his shots, neutered and microchipped. He is between 2-4 years old & weighs 18 pounds. He is shy but so very sweet.

I decided that I wanted to stay with my WROC family. I am joining Dewey, Howard & Herbert. Even better, we have Karen & Brad to take care of all of us!

TINKERBELLE’S ORGINAL STORY: This little lady needs some TLC because she has a terrible skin condition. She went to our vet for the works & she will receive lots of medicated baths. Tink is so sweet, gentle and quiet. We look forward to seeing her personality blossom as she starts to feel better. Tinkerbell has medical needs that will require life long management and various issues we are actively working on to stabilize.

Our sweet senior boy Hank found his forever home with Libby and Brent. Mom Libby writes “We are thrilled to have Buddy with us. He is adjusting nicely, and his terrier personality is starting to shine through!”

HANK’S ORIGINAL STORY: Hank is 13 years old & came to rescue because his family circumstances changed suddenly. He is a very sweet boy who loves car rides and belly rubs. He is neutered, his shots are current & he is microchipped. This gentleman will walk proudly by your side or nap quietly on the couch. He is looking for a forever home so he never has to move again.

CASSIE’S ORIGINAL STORY: WROC found me at a county shelter. I was so scared and in need of a dental, spay, & mammary tumor removal. WROC whisked me off to the vet & now I am as good as new! I am a really cute & sweet Westie/Maltese mix, approx 8-9 years old, 11 pounds, my shots are current & I am microchipped. I would love a calm & loving family who is looking for a very sweet girl.

I was adopted by Robert & Grande. Don’t you think we look like brother & sister? We are great friends and my new Dad is the best! We spend lots of time in the park & I get to see my foster family, so very cool. Love, Maddie

MADDIE’S ORIGINAL STORY: The shelter called WROC because because I had a hernia that was in desperate need of repair. WROC came for me the very next day and took me immediately to the vet. I am approximately 8 years old & 8 pounds. I am very sweet and brave. The bigger dogs don’t scare me at all.

I was adopted by Lynn & Rod. They such a sweet family and I fit it in perfectly with them. I follow them everywhere and absolutely adore them & the feeling is mutual. XOXO Archie

ARCHIE’S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 13 year old, 23 pound Westie. My owner had to go into a facility and the family had no room for me. But I am a resilent Westie & moved right in with my foster family. I am a very sweet and gentle boy. I love to sit quietly next to you and I absolutely love my walks and exploring. I am an energetic & happy senior with no medical issues. My shots are current, I’m neutered & microchipped.

BRAD’S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a handsome 3 year old, 25 pound Westie. I came to WROC because my family had a baby and there was not very much time leftover for me. I am a cuddly sweet boy who loves to walk and play with squeaky toys. I would like an active family who will spend lots of time with me. I will be an amazing addition to your family. Clive, Adopted July 2021

We are so happy to announce that sweet Clive was adopted by Mark and WROC alumni Penny. After all that Clive has been through, his happily ever after has come true.

CLIVE’S ORIGINAL STORY: Life had not been kind to Clive.  He was dropped off at a shelter night drop. The shelter immediately asked WROC to take him because he had a broken jaw and was in terrible pain.  Turns out that Clive does not have a lower jaw at all.  The neglect was heartbreaking but he has made an amazing recovery!   Clive loves to be in your lap, enjoys belly rubs, & walks. He is 11 pounds, 7-8 years, & potty trained. He requests a calm & loving family.

It happened! I found the best family with Dave & Veronica. I moved right in like I had always lived here. I love my new yard, so many great things to sniff. I especially love walking with Dad and cuddling with Mom. It’s a great dog’s life for sure!!!

ROBBIE’S ORIGINAL STORY: My family called WROC because they had too many kids for me to handle. I am a fun sweet guy who gives sweet kisses. I am really active, love my treats & food, and I love the park. I don’t like skateboards, bikes or big dogs, but I get along great with all the other Westies here. I am 9 years old, 18 pounds, neutered, and my shots are current. I am a great doggie looking for a great family.

BENTLEY’S ORIGINAL STORY: My elderly owner passed away & his family did not want me. I am so happy that they called WROC who welcomed me with open arms. I am a very sweet & lovable 13 years young boy. I enjoy short walks and especially love my food & treats. I am looking for that special family to share my golden years. LILY’S ORIGINAL STORY: I came to WROC because my owner became very ill and the family called WROC. I am a 10 month old, 11 pound Westie girl. I am all puppy, I run crazy circles, play bite my leash, jump & I dance. I am a very sweet puppy & would love my own home again with a sister or brother. ROXY’S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 14 month, 18 pound Westie girl. My owners called WROC because I am possessive and like all of the attention. I am a sweet girl who loves to walk and play with my toys. I would like a family who really understands us terriers & I promise I will be a great doggie. I am spayed, shots are current & microchipped. Roxy will be placed with a family with no other pets or children.

MACGREGOR’S ORIGINAL STORY: My Dad passed away & my Mom moved into a nursing home. Their caregiver took really good care of me & contacted WROC to see if they would take me. Of course they did because Scotties are Westie cousins. I am a happy guy who loves to walk & loves to play in water. I really would like my own home again, so here’s a shout out to all you Scottie people. I am waiting!!

LULU’S ORIGINAL STORY: I was purchased during the pandemic and now it is time to find a new home. I am super sweet and love taking walks. I am a very playful girl but I also really enjoy sitting on a lap and getting petted. I just turned 1 year old and I am spayed, current on shots, and microchipped.

LUCKY’S ORIGINAL STORY: My life fell apart in an instant. My elderly owner could no longer take care of me and the family did not want me. I was not feeling LUCKY at all. I traveled a long way to WROC and I am so happy that I did and I am starting to feel LUCKY. I am 14 years young, neutered, shots are current & I am microchipped. ANGUS’ ORIGINAL STORY: i AM a 3 year old 22 pound Scottish Terrier. While I am a different color, I am close cousin to a Westie! I was lost and alone in an out of state shelter, but lucky for me the shelter called WROC. AIR WROC flew to get me. Thank you Alan & Barbara & Deb. I am an absolutely stunning Scottie. I love to play with other dogs & my toys. I am neutered, my shots are current & I am microchipped.

JASPER’S ORIGINAL STORY: My owner passed away & I ended up in the shelter. When people saw my skin condition, they passed me by. But WROC did not care & as soon as I was available, they sprung me from the shelter. I am 5 years old, full of energy & happiness. I love to play, I love my toys & I love other dogs & people. My shots are current and I am micro-chipped and neutered.

PENNY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am 7-8 year old, 11 pound Westie Cairn Terrier mix. I was in the county shelter. I was very frightened, and no one came for me. but WROC did. I immediately got a bounce back in my step! I dance for my dinner, love long walks, cuddling and sneaking onto your lap. My shots are current & I am spayed & microchipped.

KATIE’S ORIGINAL STORY: I am 4 year old, 13 pound Cairn Terrier mix. My story is so sad. Animal control found me wandering the streets and pregnant. They took me to the clinic where I had an emergency spay because my babies had not survived. I needed more care so the shelter asked WROC to take me. I am shy but every day I become more confident. I would like a loving family who will treat me like a princess. My shots are current & I am microchipped.

I was adopted by Brooke & Michael & 2 human brothers. We are having so much fun together. I love our family outings to the park and the beach. I am giving my new family a new purpose and they are giving me so much love! XO Murphy

BEAU'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 4 year old, 15 pound Cairn/Westie mix. I was a 2nd time offender at the shelter and this time my owner did not come for me & I was so sad. The shelter called WROC & they came for me the very next day. I was off to the vet for the works, a bath, neuter, & shots. I am a happy sweet doggie. I only ask that you never abandon me again & I will love you forever.

ERNIE’S ORIGINAL STORY: my DNA reveals I am 50% miniature schnauzer with maybe a tiny bit of Westie mixed in.  I am approximately 2 years old, 17 pounds, neutered, micro-chipped, and I am in tip top health and current on all my shots.  I love to play, run really fast & my squeaky ball. I would like a fun active family who is terrier savvy.

BEAR’S ORIGINAL STORY: Bear is a 4 year old, 20 pound Cairn Terrier. The shelter called WROC because Bear was an owner turn in who said they could not handle him. It seems Bear is an adorable little boy, but has an issue with being picked up. We are working with him and he improves daily. Bear is neutered, microchipped & his shots are current.

I was adopted by by Linda. She researched all about taking care of a blind doggie and has even scented her furniture so I can move around easily. I am happy in my new home and continue to do all my tricks for treats. XOXO Chloe

COCO'S ORIGINAL STORY: Coco is an owner turn in whose family was moving and there was no room in the moving van for her. She is 12 years old, 14 pounds and completely blind. Her hearing and sense of smell are excellent and she loves to walk. She has a full bag of tricks, sit, down, spin, & bang which she happily combines for treats.

DOLLY’S ORIGINAL STORY: Dolly is a 9 year old, 15 pound gorgeous spayed female Westie.  Dolly is healthy with great skin, a recent dental, and her shots are current.  She is loyal, protective, smart and silly. She loves playing, hunting in the backyard, chasing squirrels, and going for walks. She loves being an only dog and will be placed in a home with no animals and no small children.
