Molly, Forever Fostered December 2018

WROC found the most special person to be my new Mom, Miranda.  She is a caregiver to people, children and now me!  She told me that all she wanted for Christmas was a special little Westie that needed her.  So now I am a WROC Forever Foster & my Christmas wish came true!!  XOXO Molly

MOLLY'S ORIGINAL STORY:  Update: Our Molly has been diagnosed with bladder cancer.  Despite that, she is playful, funny, rolls in the grass, loves her toys, walks & car rides.  We are looking for a special person that will be a Forever Foster for our girl.  WROC will provide for all vet care and drugs that she needs.  If you have room in your heart for this special girl, we would love to hear from you.

I am a happy and active girl.  I love walks in the park, rides in the car, and especially love squeaky toys.  I am approximately 11 years old, spayed, shots are current, and microchipped. You are going to love me!!  XOXO Molly

So great for me, I only spent 3 days in rescue before I was adopted by Barbara, Mark, Jackie & Luke.  I am so happy with my new home.  The boys like me and I have my Mom wrapped around my little paw.  We go everywhere together and I could not be happier.  XOXO Scooter

SCOOTER'S ORIGINAL STORY:  I was wandering the streets and animal control picked me up and took me to the shelter.  I waited a long time for my owners to come, but they never did.  WROC was watching me and as soon as I was available for adoption, they came for me.  I am a darling 2 year old 16 pound Westie boy.  I am neutered, shots are current, and I am microchipped.  I am so cute that I will not be in rescue very long!!  XOXO Scooter

Luca.adopt1.jpg

Luca, Adopted December 2018

As it turns out, my story has a wonderful new beginning and we all consider ourselves VERY lucky.  I was adopted by my new Mom & Dad, Linda & Jim.  Chappy & Sprite are my new brother & sister and I could not be happier.  I fit right in with the pack and I get to sleep in the big bed!  Good times!!  XOXO Luca

LUCA'S ORIGINAL STORY:  A friend of WROC contacted us to let us know there was "somewhat of a Westie" was in the county shelter.  Our volunteer went to the shelter to see for himself and he saw the most pitiful little dog.  He had brown ears and a brown tail, he was crusty & matted, his ears & eyes were infected. He was not a Westie.  As he turned to go, the little dog jumped up, barked, wagged his tail & stuck his nose through the bars as if to say, please come back.  He did a little dance & we simply could not leave him there...another life saved.  He is approximately 8 years old,  21 pounds, neutered, shots are current, microchipped, and his teeth were cleaned.  He is truly a sweet, calm, and happy dog.

Troy.adopt1.jpg

I am the proud owner of my new parents, Corky & Sally.  When WROC asked them if they could go for me, they immediately packed up the car, drove up the coast, and brought me back to southern CA.  They are wonderful and so is my new brother Toby.  I got a great new haircut by Joy and my family thinks I am stunning.  I am very fortunate to have found the best new home.  XOXO Troy

TROY'S ORIGINAL STORY:  My family had a major life change and they just could not keep me anymore.  I was not getting the attention that I needed so they made the difficult but correct decision to send me to WROC.  I am a happy 20 lb, 9 year old boy.  I am neutered, microchipped, and my shots are current.

HEATHER'S ORIGINAL STORY:  I was dumped in a park and was taken to the shelter.  I was dirty, matted, and could not walk very well.  I only weighed 10.5 pounds.  The shelter decided that I was just too much for them to handle, so they called WROC & volunteer Heather dropped everything and came for me.  I have some trouble with my joints, but I am doing better every day.  I am 3 years old,  I gained 2 pounds, I am spayed, and my shots are current.  I am very sweet, I give soft kisses & I will wrap my paws around you.  XOXO Heather

CHARLIE'S ORIGINAL STORY:  Charlie was in a county shelter, virtually unadoptable because of his skin.  Lucky for everyone, shelter staff called WROC and Donna & Jamie immediately went to get him.  Two baths down, a trip to the vet for the works and this little guy is starting to feel better.  He looks bad, but we are confident that he is on the road to healing.  Charlie is 10 years old, 15 pounds, neutered, shots are current, microchipped, and a happy little Westie.

Hazel.1.jpg

Hazel, Forever Fostered September 2018

Our very good friends Jackie, Bob & Westie Luci have opened their home and hearts to Hazel.  She will be supported by WROC for the rest of her life.  Hazel's new Mom Jackie writes "I am thrilled to say that little Hazel is now a permanent member of our family.  Thank you WROC for giving our Hazel a chance!  We love you guys and WROC!"

HAZEL'S ORIGINAL STORY:  The shelter called WROC asking if we had any room for an 18 year old Westie that is blind and deaf that was dropped off by her owner because "she got old".  Special thanks to Kelli, who jumped in her car, raced to the shelter, and delivered this sweet girl to WROC!  She has been diagnosed with cushings disease so we are starting her on meds.   Our sweet girl had surgery and did great! Poor baby had 8 teeth pulled and four masses removed.  This little 18 year old is a trooper!  Thank you everyone for your generosity contributing to her care.  This very deserving 18 year old is going to have the best rest of her life very soon.

HARRISON'S ORIGINAL STORY:  I was picked up as a stray by a shelter in LA.  I was tired, hungry, and scared but I waited hopefully in the shelter.  I looked a mess because I had been on my own for so long that I almost gave up hope.  No one wanted me, so I huddled in the back of cage, waiting and waiting.  And then suddenly she appeared, speaking in a soft soothing voice, she told me everything was going to be okay.  And she was so right, WROC wanted me!  I let her know how grateful I was and snuggled up and gave her soft kisses.  I was very good as she washed away all the dirt and cut out the mats in my hair.  I am 10-11 years old, neutered, microchipped and my shots are current.  If you are looking for a sweetheart of dog who is very grateful for his second chance, then I am your man.  Happy & grateful, Harrison

Jassie.adopt.web.JPG

Jassie, Adopted January 2018

It was quite the journey to my new family in Colorado.  I was nervous as we boarded the big airplane, but it was not so scary after all.  Everyone thought I was so cute and I slept quietly for most of the ride.  When we arrived, my new Mom & Dad, Cathy & Rick, picked us up and they were so nice that I liked them immediately.  We went to my new house where another surprise awaited me, my big Sis, Chloe.  Chloe showed me all around the house and yard, we took a walk, and I felt like this had been my home forever.  I am so happy with this wonderful family, my journey is complete.  XOXO Jassie

JASSIE'S ORIGINAL STORY:  Our Jassie just arrived at WROC on the eve of Halloween.  She is a victim of extreme neglect.  At only 4 years old she is such a sweet little girl despite her terrible condition.  We will provide her with all the care she needs and soon she will be a beautiful Westie again.  Two trips to the vet, one to the groomer, medication and 4 baths later,  our Jassie is beginning to look & feel better.
