Ellie Mae, Adopted December 2015
I was adopted by previous adopters Isabel & Jack. I am joining Westie Herbie in this over the top Westie family. I could not have hoped for a better family to take care of me and I am forever grateful. Happy Westie Kisses, Ellie Mae
ELLIE MAE'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 3 year old, 13.5 pound, spayed female Westie. I am absolutely cute as a button!! I love my new diet of Highlander Hash, it is gone in a flash!! And I love walking in the park, it is a new experience for me and I find it delightful. I am a little shy and would love a family who is gentle, kind, and willing teach me the ways of the world. I am really good at cuddling on the couch, so I hope to find my new family really soon. XOXO Ellie Mae
Mogley, now Medley, Adopted December 2015
I was adopted by Fletcher & John and I love my new name Medley. Mom & Dad think I am the best doggie ever! The feeling is so mutual. This is the life that I have been dreaming about and I am the happiest I have ever been! XOXO Medley
MOGLEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: Mogley spent his life living in a backyard and was relinquished to WROC so he could have the life he deserves. He has done to remarkably well in foster care. His coat has almost completely grown in! He is a very happy and well adjusted boy and is as sweet and gentle as can be. He loves to snuggle, play and is just a darling. He sleeps soundly in his crate and night and is just so happy to have friends to play with. Mogley is approximately 8 years old, neutered, microchipped, and current on all of his shots.
Mia, Adopted December 2015
Our darling Mia, now Spice, joins Westie Sugar Cube and Arlis. She moved just down the road to beautiful San Diego and is living happily ever after!!
MIA'S ORIGINAL STORY: My hair is almost completely grown in and I am beautiful. I am healthy, happy, and as playful as a puppy. Life is glorious in my foster home, I graduated to sleeping in the big bed. I went to the beach with Surf Dog Joey & I love to swim in the ocean. Squeaky toys are one of my favorite things and I will play happily by myself, with you or with the other Westies. I am such a party girl and now I am ready for my own family. I am 6 years old, spayed, microchipped, and my shots are current,
Tippy, Forever Fostered December 2015
Gentle Tippy was found wandering the streets of Las Vegas and is estimated to be around 14-15 years old. It appears she lived a very hard life and came to rescue withdrawn and particularly sensitive. After addressing all of her medical needs and providing her with a quiet and calm home to gain her bearings, Tippy suffered an episode of Vestibular Disease. This resulted in the loss of balance, dizziness and other symptoms, much like vertigo in humans. Her exams point to central vestibular which usually has a poorer prognosis than the more common peripheral form. But to confirm this would entail an MRI or CT scan and we do not want to put her through that at her age. However, Tippy is slowly recovering though it is likely she will always have the head tilt and most importantly, she is happy.
Sprite, Adopted December 2015
Sprite was adopted by previous adopters Linda & Jim, proud owners of Chappy, Reggie, Sugar Cookie, and now Sprite.
SPRITE'S ORIGINAL STORY: At the charming age of 9 years old, Sprite was relinquished to WROC because she has diabetes. We noticed Sprite was acting a bit disoriented. Unfortunately, a common complication of diabetes in dogs is cataracts and it can develop very quickly leading to blindness – sometimes overnight! What a blessing it is that her foster mom picked up on this immediately because this is an ophthalmology emergency!
At first, we were feeling a little “down” thinking our girl just can’t catch a break. But the universe works in magical ways. It would have been a tragic outcome for Sprite had she not been turned over to WROC and being in foster care turned out to be exactly where she was supposed to be. It is so heartbreaking that these little souls can be so easily discarded when they need their person the most. She is undemanding and taking care of her is effortless. She takes her insulin shots like a true angel and enjoys just being a dog. She is playful, fun loving, and her puppy-like antics keep us smiling. She has captivated our hearts. AND now she can see!! We are so grateful to EYECARE FOR ANIMALS in Tustin, CA, Dr. Brinkis, and Dr Venturi for their excellent care.
Louis B, Forever Fostered, December 2015
Louis was brought to a Northern California shelter by his owner with a request to be euthanized because they thought he was “old”. The shelter contacted us and he was transported to WROC. He was in very bad shape and extremely thin when he arrived and he spent his first week hospitalized for pneumonia.
Louis is incontinent, deaf and partially blind so he startles very easily. Louis needs to be handled carefully and methodically so to keep him safe, he is now a WROC Forever Foster boy.
Note: Many rescues were contacted about Louis’ plight but all said they were full. We are too. But saying "no" to a senior would have guaranteed his demise simply because his owner failed him. He did nothing wrong. He aged...like we all do.
Fostering saves lives. Please consider fostering a Westie even for just a few weeks.
Buzz, Adopted November 2015 **WROC's 400th Adoption**
My new name is Teddy and I was adopted by Nancee & Kim. I am over the moon with my new family. Here's what my special Mom has to say about special little me: "Teddy fits perfectly into the dog shaped empty spot on the couch and also the one in my heart. We are so very thankful this year."
BUZZ'S ORIGINAL STORY: I found myself in the middle of the street with lots of traffic all around me. It was terrifying when one car came to a screeching stop just inches from me. The driver opened her door to see if I was ok and as I gathered my wits, I decided I needed to take action. I jumped into the car and hoped for the best. Such a nice person, she found a temporary resting place for me and then called WROC. I went to the vet for all my shots and a dental, then off to the groomers for a long overdue bath and haircut. I am dining on Highlander Hash and taking great walks in the park. And now, I cannot stop smiling. I am the happiest, sweetest boy on the planet. I am thankful for the kindness of strangers who saved me from certain death. I am looking for a loving family who I can shower with love and kisses. I am just that kinda guy. I am 8 years old, 20 pounds, my shots are current & I am neutered and microchipped
Milo, Adopted November 2015

He is active and likes running around the yard chasing squirrels. He is crate, leash, & house trained. Milo is 18 pounds, neutered, shots are current and he is microchipped.
Jacob, Adopted November 2015
I was adopted by Rosa, Dante & Westie Lila. Mom said I was meant to be with them...they came to WROC's photoshoot and I was there with my foster family. Dante & I ran and played, Mom hugged and petted me, and I just knew they were my family. One week later, I went home with the best family ever. I am such a lucky dog.
JACOB'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Jacob and I am a 7-8 year old Westie boy. I was dropped off at a shelter in terrible shape. I cannot remember the last time I had a bath or a haircut. I was so matted that shelter staff shaved all my hair off. I am a very sweet boy. I love love love my people. I like to cuddle and gently play with my squeaky toys. I am crate trained & house trained. I really enjoy long walks and I am the perfect companion. I am neutered, my shots are current, and I am microchipped. I am looking for a family who will love me always. Looking forward to meeting you. XOXO Jacob
Peppermint, Adopted November 2015
Look at me now! Once my foster mom saw my very prominent under bite , it was love at first sight. Yep, that's all it took! She healed up my skin in a jiffy, bought me this stylish harness and is the best cook on the planet so I decided to stay. Happy in my new home, Peppermint
PEPPERMINT'S ORIGINAL STORY: Rumors are usually not a good thing, but this little nugget heard that WROC serves some pretty exquisite cuisine and that every day here is a spa day. Little Peppermint walked right into her new foster home and promptly stood at the bath tub, waiting for the bubbles to form and the massage to begin. Not wanting to show her back side, Peppermint has been fitted with some stylish pajamas to protect her delicate skin while we pamper her back to health. At only 12 lbs she has some weight to gain and she has started medication for her ear and eye infection as well as her skin. Peppermint is 11 years old and is so appreciative of foster care.

MOLLY'S ORIGINAL STORY: i just arrived from Las Vegas and I am the new show girl in town. My owners were moving and they thought what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, so they unceremoniously dumped me at the shelter. Lucky for me, WROC's ever vigilant volunteer scooped me right up. Tom, Pennie & Ivy"

He is a lovely little guy that gets along beautifully with all the Westies in the house and he is especially fond of walks and the dog park. Truman loves everybody! He is trusting, sweet, gentle and polite. He does his best to get all the Westies to play with him and he recently discovered tree squirrels which gave him the time of his life. Truman isn't sure what to do with the toy box but as he settles in, his curiosity is getting the best of him. There is no other place he would rather be than in your lap. He is potty trained, neutered and microchipped.
Sami, Adopted April 2015
I am here to tell you that really good things come to those who wait! I waited patiently for just the right family and they appeared right before my very eyes. Inder & Julie wanted to give me that special home that I was looking for and I am eternally grateful. They are the most wonderful Mom & Dad EVER!
SAMI'S ORIGINAL STORY: Sami's owners left him in a Las Vegas shelter. He was neglected, sick and very tired. The shelter kept him for only 3 days and scheduled him for euthanasia. WROC's friends in Las Vegas jumped into action, pulling him from the shelter just in time. His journey began, travelling from Nevada to California with so many people rallying to help this Westie boy.
Sami is a sweet, gentle boy who enjoys his walks and especially his food! He loves to be with his people and he enjoys his Westie companions. He is 12 years old, neutered and current on all his shots. This is a very special senior boy and we are looking for a family that will have lots of time and love for him. He deserves the very best happily ever after!!
Murphy, Adopted April 2015
I was adopted by Beverly, Derek, Nick & Dylan and Westie Cash. I am so happy to have such a wonderful home. Cash & I play all the time and the boys are a lot of fun too! Thank you WROC for my second chance! XOXO Murphy
MURPHY'S ORIGINAL STORY: Hi there, my name is Murphy and I am a 4 year old, 18 pound Scottie boy. My shots are current, I am neutered, and I am microchipped. My elderly owner could not take care of me and sadly, there was no family to take me, so I ended up with WROC. I am a happy go lucky Scottie, love hanging out with the Westies, even though I am the odd man out! I will sit by your side, or in your lap, whichever you prefer. If you are looking for a beautiful sweet Scottie, then I am your man, REALLY. I am here waiting patiently for you. XOXO Murphy
Scooter, Adopted April 2015
Woo hoo, I was adopted by previous adopter's Alan & Barbara & the coolest Westie ever, Wiley. I am so excited to join this wonderful family. I am the happiest Westie on the planet!
Wild Puppy Licks & Kisses, Scooter
SCOOTER'S ORIGINAL STORY: Scooter is 6 months old, his shots are current, he is microchipped and neutered. He is a smart puppy and well on his way to being house trained, crate trained and leash trained. He is full of adorable puppy energy. He loves everythng and everyone. He dances on his back legs whenever meeting a new person, dog, or kid. He loves walking in the park and his Highlander Hash is a favorite food already. This little guy will make you smile. He is an absolute delight!
Thor, Adopted & Forever Fostered March 2015
Our sweet Thor spent a year in foster care, was adopted and then was returned because he didn't quite fit in. Shortly after he came back to WROC, he was diagnosed with Westie Lung Disease (Pulmonary Fibrosis). For that reason, Thor will stay with his original foster family within our Forever Foster Program where treatment will focus on support and controlling the symptoms to enhance the quality of life. We felt this was best for Thor because upon his return, he was withdrawn and depressed and we didn't want him to go through another significant change with his condition.
It is important to note that Thor is happy again and has an abundance of squeaker Kong balls which makes his world go around.
Sofie, Adopted February 2015
It worked - my wishes came true!! I got the best family with previous adopters Amber, Mark and Westie Oliver. They are patient and understanding & I love all of them and they love me. I am finally home. Thankful Westie Kisses, Sofie
SOFIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am an adorable 6 year old, 14 pound, spayed female Westie. My shots are current and I have sparkly clean teeth from my recent dental cleaning. My life has been hard. My original owner left me outside in a pen and did not care whether it was too hot or too cold. I am a strong girl, but this just about broke my spirit. One day, two really nice guys came for me and life with them was much better. But their circumstances changed and I had to move again, this time to WROC. I am still shy and will need a gentle, caring, and patient family. My fondest wish, and I am wishing really hard, is to have my own home where I can feel happy and safe. XOXO Sofie
Maddy, Adopted February 2015
I was adopted by Sherry and I am moving to San Diego!! I am such a lucky girl, nothing like beach living in sunny Southern California. XOXO Maddy
MADDY'S ORIGINAL STORY: Meet Maddy, an incredibly fun Westie girl! Maddy was loved deeply and very well taken care of but unfortunately her owner's medical needs prevented Maddy from getting the attention she deserves. So they did the most loving thing by bringing her to WROC.
Maddy loves toys and loves chasing balls. She is sweet, tenacious, and an all around beautiful girl. She loves the other Westies and settled in her foster home immediately. Maddy is spayed, current on her shots and microchipped.
Codie, Adopted February 2015
I got my fabulous new family, previous WROC adopters Louis & Charlene, and Phinney, my new big brother. They think I am a very cool dog and I think the same about them. I am so happy, they are all mine!!! The Biggest Westie Kisses Ever, Codie
CODIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Codie and I am a 6 year old, 20 pound, neutered male Westie. I have a brand new sparkling smile since I just had my teeth cleaned, my shots are current, and I am microchipped. I came to WROC because my kids grew up and the family had no time for me. Their loss really because I am quite the catch. I am a fun loving strong boy. I really enjoy long walks and hanging out with my people. If you have the time, you could be mine!!! Big Westie Kisses, Codie
Pepper, Adopted February 2015
I was adopted by Jerome & Mark and I am one happy pup! They are the greatest and know all about us terriers. The minute I laid eyes on my new Dad, I knew I found my family. Thank you WROC & SW Cairn Rescue for the helping hand. Sparkling kisses, Pepper
PEPPER'S ORIGINAL STORY: Oops, I am not white...that's because I am a good looking Cairn Terrier, very close cousin of the Westie. I came to WROC because my family could not take care of me. It was upsetting at first, but hey. I am a terrier and we are a resilient breed. I am a beautiful active boy, less than 2 years old, still a baby really. I am neutered, shots are current and I am microchipped. I like to play, run & walk. I enjoy the company of my foster Westies and my foster Mom & Dad. My coat was clipped really short, but it will grow back in no time. I am hoping for a family who has time to spend with me, one that will teach me the ways of the world. I am a diamond in the rough. I promise I will sparkle for you!
Henri, Adopted January 2015
I was adopted by a great family, Sharon & Sal. They take care of my every wish - lots of walks, great food, and toys abound. Mom keeps saying they love me to pieces and the feeling is mutual. XOXO Henri
HENRI'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Henri and I am a 5 year old, 20 pound neutered male. My owners could not keep me anymore because they said they had too many dogs in their house. I did not understand, how could that be, I tried really hard to be a good dog, I was heartbroken, but WROC welcomed me with open arms and very carefully healed my broken heart. I now run with the pack and play happily with my toys. I am a very sweet Westie. I give soft kisses and gentle nudges so you know I am there. I would like a family that has plenty of time to spend with me and lots of love to go around. Henri
Mikey, now Bruin, Adopted January 2015
Wow, everything worked out great for me! I was adopted by good friends of WROC, Karen, Jim, and the lovely Westie Lacy. Mom says I am the sweetest boy ever and they are thrilled to have me as part of their family.
I am such a lucky boy and ever so grateful for my new life! I always give sweet Westie kisses. Bruin
MIKEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I was lost and ended up in a scary shelter. I was so frightened that I just huddled in the back of my cage. I did not know it, but WROC was watching me and as soon as I was available, my rescue angel came for me on New Years eve. What a great way to start the new year! I am now back to being my fun, active self. I love to play & chase my ball. I am 2-3 years old, 18 pounds, and neutered.
Ace, now Charles, Adopted January 2015
My new name is Charles and I was adopted by a Westie savvy Mom & Dad, Sharon & Robert. I have a Westie sister, Katie and she is showing me the ropes of my new home. They are taking care of my every need and I am a very happy Westie. Mom writes: "Charles is doing wonderfully and really becoming part of the family. He is such a good dog & so well loved.
ACE'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am an adorable 3 year old Westie, 19 pounds, leash trained and house trained. I have skin issues that my previous owners were not prepared to deal with, but thankfully they called WROC. I received my first soft bristle scrub bath with medicated shampoo and special meds to heal my skin. I love my special diet made with fish and vegetables. I’m looking for a home where I won’t be left alone for long periods. I get along well with the other Westie in my foster home. I promise, I will be the “Ace of your heart.”
