Bailey, now Baby, Adopted December 2014
My new name is Baby and Santa was looking out for me after all. I was adopted by previous WROC adopters, Lindsay & Scott. I rode home in a big white chariot pulled by 8 tiny reindeer (or maybe it was an engine with a V-8) in my very own cushy carseat. I join a whole pack of doggies, Dixie, Pinky, Benny, Tugg & Lola in the most caring and loving family. See what happens when you just believe? XOXO Baby-Cakes
BAILEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: It seems every year just before Christmas, a little lost soul arrives at WROC. This year, it was Bailey, a 9-10 year old girl, whose owner could no longer take care of her. There were deaths in the family, loss of home, moving and little Bailey was almost lost in the shuffle. Her owner did not know what to do, but a friend referred her to WROC and she made the right decision for Bailey. She is a delightful little girl, weighs about 15 pounds and has a very sweet temperament. She has been to the vet for a dental and bloodwork which came back great. She is spayed and her shots are current. Bailey's only request for Christmas is a home of her own full of love and lots of pets. We believe in the magic of Christmas and know that Santa is looking out for her!
Peetz, Adopted December 2014
I am having a good time in my new home. I have a big sister and a new job! I get paid really well in tummy rubs, games of fetch, a big yard to play in, neighborhood walks, treats and FOOD! Oh the food is so yummy, just like you made for me. The treats are wonderful too! Only the best for me because my new Mom Wendy says I'm "special". So about my job, I take care of Heather. If she whines or cries I run over to her and let her know she's not alone. She cannot see, so that's important to her. Heather teaches me all about being a proper well-loved Westie. Who knew life could be so good? I am really happy here. Thank you for this family and my best ever new life!! XOXO Peetz
PEETZ'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Peetzr and I am an 8 year old, 14 pound Westie boy. Before coming to WROC, I led a very sheltered life and many of the ways of the world are new to me. I am a little shy but I love the company of the other Westies and my new people. I love, love, love to get dressed in my harness and go for a long walk in the park. I have a skip in my step as I prance alongside the other Westies. I also love mealtime, my foster Mom cooks up the best chow ever! I am a special little boy looking for my special family. XOXO Peetz
Bree, now Maggie, Adopted December 2014
Bree, now Maggie, was adopted by Janice & Frank. Mom Janice writes: "Frank and I simply love Maggie. We go on wonderful, long daily walks and Maggie is regularly complimented on her exceptional manners and good behavior when we are walking or visiting stores. She is the best behaved dog. Maggie is also such a dear companion and a very, sweet buddy. We feel so fortunate to have her. Thank you again, WROC. Maggie is such a good match for us. We are delighted to be able to share a loving and good home with her."
BREE'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Bree and I am a beautiful Westie girl. I am approximately 6-7 years old, spayed and current on all my shots. I have had obedience training so I have very nice manners and of course, I am perfectly housetrained. I am an active girl who loves to walk and ride in the car. I am very social and adore my people. I would like a nice pack leader who will continue my training and give me lots of love and affection. In return, I will be your best friend forever, I promise!! XOXO Bree
Mellie, Adopted December 2014
As it turns out, 5 was not enough and our very good friends Nikki, Eva & Bill adopted Mellie. They live on a fantastic ranch with all kinds of room and critters. Mellie's new family includes Westies Tyler, Coach, Max, Gigi, and Kiki. We all joined in and this has to be one of the most fun adoptions ever!
MELLIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: There is something about being in the right place at the right time and I am one lucky girl. I lived in Joey's neighborhood and we often saw each other walking in the park. When my owner said she might put me down because she did not feel well enough to take care of me, WROC stepped up and took me in. Whew, what a relief because I deserve better than that.
I am such a happy girl, gentle, quiet and I love to walk and cuddle. My shots are current, I am spayed, microchipped and weigh about 14 pounds. I may not be a Westie, perhaps a Cairn/Schnauzer kissed by a Westie mix, but I have so much love to give and I will make someone a perfect companion. I would love to be your best friend, I promise to love you unconditionally. XOXO Mel
Rudie, now Phin, Adopted December 2014
I have a new name Phin and I really like it and my new parents Jaci & Gregg. They play with me lots. I sleep in Mom's lap when she is on the computer. We went for a walk this morning in the rain. Mom got very excited when I did my business outside. She said I was a very good boy, but you and I already knew that. I ate all my dinner last night and and Mom apologized for not having any more chicken but promised to get more. I miss all my foster family but I am making lots of new friends and I am one happy puppy!! Love, Phin
RUDIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am the most adorable 6 month old Westie puppy that you could imagine. I run and play, jump for joy, and race around the other Westies like a wild man. I love all people, dogs, and just about everything that I have met. I have never had a bad day in my short life and I am looking for that family that will continue my fun. Hope to see you soon!!! Happy Westie Kisses, Rudie
Daisy & Herbie, Adopted November 2014
We are the luckiest Westies ever...we moved to Beverly Hills with our new Mom & Dad, Nancy & Dick. They say we are the very best doggies ever and we could not be happier. Our dog sister Molly takes very good care of us, teaching us the ropes of our new home. Thank you WROC for our second chance! XOXO Daisy & Herbie
DAISY & HERBIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Daisy & Herbie came to us under very sad circumstances. Their owner passed away suddenly, leaving this senior pair with no place to go. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers, Bob & Jackie, who drove to Las Vegas and brought them home to WROC. They are absolutely beautiful dogs and are very active. They love walking in the park and discovering the squeaky toys in the toy box. They sleep quietly in their crates at night, but would much prefer the big bed! This gorgeous pair is leash trained, housetrained, spayed and neutered, shots are current, and microchipped. We are looking for a special family for Daisy & Herbie so that they can stay togeter. They are perfect, well trained companions. Their new family will be so delighted.
Izzy Pop, Adopted November 2014
We were so thrilled for Izzy Pop when previous adopter Music wanted to be Izzy's forever home. She is a perfect match for this family and now has her very own Westie brother Henry, adopted from WROC last year. These two will never go without again and their home is filled with toys, great food and a whole lot of love!
IZZY'S ORIGINAL STORY: Izzy is approximately 3 years old and though life hasn't been kind to her, one would never know it because she is the sweetest little girl, bouncy and a very well behaved little peanut. Her eyes just beam with love and curiosity. Izzy is currently suffering from Malassezia Dermatitis; a common cause of skin problems left untreated. No worry, because working with these skin dogs is something we do best and although she is already beautiful, she will be turning heads very soon. She is getting daily medicated soft boar brush baths which she loves, medication and lots of rest. Well, no rest. She's ready to take on the world! She was even a good little girl while she was getting her "groom on"! Izzy is not available for immediate adoption as she needs time in foster care while we work on her skin. But rest assured, she will recover and will be beautiful in no time.
Paddy, Adopted November 2014
Finally, my life is happy, settled and complete. I have a great new Mom, Jean, and I have a Westie brother, Winston. Mom is a previous Westie adopter so she knows all about us Westies. She made me a promise that I would never be abandoned again and I am really good with that. Thanks WROC from the very cool Paddy
PADDY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Paddy and I am 6 years old, neutered, and current on all my shots. My owner's son bought me as a puppy present for her, but now she is not able to take care of me. Being the resilient Westie that I am, I took my life change in stride and am fitting in well with my foster family. I am a very handsome boy if I say so myself. I am active and strong. I enjoy long walks, playing with my toys, and even running by the bicycle. I love the exercise!!
I am a smart guy and have a few tricks up my sleeve. I do a great sit up for a cookie!! I am really sweet and love ear rubs and relaxing with my people. I am totally ready for my new life. If you are looking for a very cool dog, seriously, I am really really cool... then jump on that application and let me hear from you!! XOXO Paddy
Wallace, Adopted October 2014
It took a little while, but WROC found my perfect family. Mom & Dad, Jan & Steve, along with Scotty & Mo. Mom says Scotty & I are hooligans, but all I can say is we have the best time racing around the house and yard. I feel so very happy, safe, and at home. XOXO Wallace
WALLACE'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Wallace and I am a handsome 6 year old, 21 pound, neutered boy. I am microchipped and all of my shots are current. I came to WROC because my Dad passed away. I was sad and confused, but now I am good. After all I am a Westie...resilient, strong, and hopeful. I am happy in my foster home. I go on long walks, I play, and I eat great food. I am so ready for my new home. I am a strong, happy boy. I am looking a great pack leader who wants an excellent companion. XOXO Wallace
Tessy, Adopted October 2014
Hi there, it"s me Tessy. I am such a happy girl because I was adopted by the most wonderful family, Mom & Dad, Valeria & Terry, and my great new brother Chopper. I could not be happier with my new life, I love living at the beach. XOXO Tessy
TESSY'S ORIGINAL STORY: This darling little girl was rescued from a shelter, scared, tired and alone. Before Tessy's feet could touch the floor, she got a bath and was so relaxed and grateful to get all the grit off her little body. She is very cooperative on the grooming table, has a voracious appetite (she could stand to gain a pound or two) and she wants nothing more than to be by her person's side. Tessy is approximately 4-5 years old, 15 lbs, up to date on her shots, spayed and microchipped.
Henry & Petey, Adopted October 2014
Our darling puppies were adopted by Brittany and Johnny. They took Henry home on a Saturday but could not stand separating the brothers. So Brittany & Johnny came back to WROC the next weekend and the brothers were reunited. We are all delighted at this happiest of endings for Henry & Petey. They are living the good life at the beach with this wonderful family!!
HENRY & PETEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: Trick or Treat! Have you seen anything cuter than these adorable Westie puppies, Henry & Petey? They came to WROC when an elderly couple purchased them and then decided they could not take care of them. The boys weigh in at 9 & 10 pounds and are full of puppy mischief. They are very sweet puppies and will let you hold them like babies on their back for a while, then it is back to wild puppy play. The lucky families who adopt these babies will need to have the time to teach them the ways of the world & to love them unconditionally.
Coco, Adopted September 2014
WROC pulled out all the stops and found me the most fantastic family with Stuart & Rivian. I feel like a fairy princess where my every wish has come true. My heart is full of love and gratitude and I am living the American dream!!! So many kisses, Coco
COCO'S ORIGINAL STORY: I was born in Germany and travelled to the US 2 years ago. But my world was rocked when my owners gave me up. I could not understand what happened and my heart was broken. Then I had an abcessed tooth, my paws got sore along with overgrown nails. WROC fixed all of that...they even fixed my broken heart with kindess & love. I ride great in the car and I am potty trained. If you don’t have a doggie door, I know how to ring a bell to let you know I need to go out. I will sit, shake hands and lie down on your request. I am a beautiful easy going 6 year old Westie girl. I am spayed, my shots are current, my teeth are cleaned and I am microchipped. I am the girl you’ve been waiting for. Kisses, Coco
Jessica, Adopted September 2014
Baby Jess went home with Mom & Dad, Tina & Alan. It took her older brother, Westie Topper a little time to adjust to her puppy antics, but he came around and is showing her around her new home. We are delighted with her new family that she has a happily ever after home!!
BABY JESSICA'S ORIGINAL STORY: Just when you think you have seen everything, life throws you another curveball. This adorable baby girl was left on a shelter counter in a shoebox. Her will to survive was so strong that she barked a tiny bark, just loud enough to be heard by shelter staff, before it was too late for her. When WROC was asked to help, there was no doubt that we would take in this little treasure. Our vet estimates her to be 6-7 weeks old, she weighs all of 2 pounds. Jessie is full of puppy energy. She is friendly and inquisitive, loves her puppy toys, and will cuddle into your neck when you pick her up. She is a very light apricot color and has the most beautiful eyes. We are looking for a family that has the time to devote to Baby Jessica, one who will give her the love and care that this little shoebox dog deserves.
Suzie, Adopted September 2014
Boy, did my dream come true when Ron and Karen drove all the way to Southern California to bring me home! I never thought I would feel happiness again, but not only did I get new parents, I also have two new pups to share my new life with, Fozzie & Easter. I couldn't have found a better home! I'm in heaven.
SUZIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Suzie's life crumbled right before her very eyes. She was relinquished to rescue by her owner who didn’t have time for her. It was so painfully obvious the first two weeks in rescue that her heart was just broken. It took a little while but with the help of her gentle and kind foster parents, she has now come into her own. She is confident, has a smile on her face and a skip in her step. She loves tummy rubs and loves to eat! She earns her keep by trying to catch flies and she is very good at it too. She is a cuddle bug, super smart, playful and an all around beautiful Westie girl. Suzie is 8 years old, spayed, microchipped and current on her shots.
Adam, now Ollie, Adopted September 2014
Adam, now Ollie, decided he really wanted to stay in San Diego. He joins WROC's Ernie and they both are living happily ever after with Margie.
ADAM'S ORIGINAL STORY: The San Diego shelter called WROC as soon as I was available. YEAH!! Thank goodness WROC has plenty of volunteers there and they came for me immediately. I have a little bit of a skin issue on my chest, but WROC will clear that up in no time. After all, they are the experts on Westie skin care.
I am a very sweet and gentle 3 year old boy, neutered, current on all my shots, and microchipped. I went to the salon and I look adorable. Give me a little time and I will be ready to go. XOXO Adam
Stella, now Ella, Adopted August 2014
I found my soulmate with my new Mom, Karen. She is positively the most perfect Mom in the whole world. She changed my name slightly to Ella because it means beautiful fairy. I personally think it really means beautiful sassy imp, but that's just me!! We are having the time of our lives and I am a very happy girl. XOXO Ella
STELLA'S ORIGINAL STORY: Do I have a story for you...my previous owners dumped me at the county shelter. WROC came for me, but the shelter lost me. (REALLY?...If only I could actually talk!) They could not find me anywhere, then 2 weeks later I re-appeared. After 3 more trips to the shelter, WROC was successful in springing me on the 4th of July. What a great day!! Unfortunately, I developed kennel cough from being in the shelter so long, which turned into pneumonia. I spent 5 days in intensive care, but WROC's great vet and multiple antibiotics healed me completely, I am a happy sassy little imp. I love to play, go on walks, and chase those pesky squirrels. I am all of 12 pounds, spayed, microchipped and my shots are current. Look out everybody, Princess Stella is in the house and looking for her perfect family!! She will run away with your heart.
Findlay, Adopted August 2014
I was adopted by Bobby, previous adopter of Brady. I am joining such a great family, us guys really have a good time! Thank you Charlie & Jeromey for putting us all together.
WROC is very grateful to have such a wonderful support team of adopters, volunteers, family, and supporters where everyone works together to find the best possible homes for our dogs!
FINDLAY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 6 year old, 22 pound neutered Westie. I am microchipped and my shots are current. My family situation changed and they made the decision to give me up, lucky for me to WROC. You can tell from my picture that I have been very well taken care of...I am a good looking guy if I do say so myself!! I enjoy lots of exercise, walking, playing, running - I love it all. So I am requesting an active family with lots of time to spend with me. I will do my very best to please you and I will love you unconditionally. Waiting patiently, Finn
Frankie, Adopted July 2014
I was adopted by Mom & Dad, Vicki & Dave. My new Mom says it best: "Thank you for letting Frankie rescue us from the Empty Nest Syndrome. From the very first day we knew that it was a match made in Heaven! He has settled in to our routine and our love so quickly and easily it feels as if he has been with us for years. We are thrilled that he is such a happy, social and well behaved little guy. We can’t wait to get in the motorhome and show him what life has in store!! We promise to live up to Frankie’s expectations of his forever home."
FRANKIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 5-6 years old, neutered, 20 pound boy. I am just about the cutest and sweetest guy you could ever hope to meet. My owner made the difficult decision that I would have a better life with WROC. I travelled far and wide to come to WROC, it took planes, trains, and automobiles. Thank you Sandy & Billy for the limo ride, Delta for the upgrade to first class, and Cindy for the ride home. I have a such a sunny disposition that I was just meant to be in California. I know my perfect family is out there just waiting for me. XOXO Frankie
Bear, now Chester, Adopted July 2014
My new name is Chester and I am a very happy Westie. WROC found the perfect family for me, Mom & Dad Linda & Greg. They have these great windows for bird and bunny watching. I have a perch where I can see activity on the driveway and still keep an eye on any food preparation that might occur in the kitchen - fantastic!! Mom put the softest bed underneath her desk in the office so I can be near her. Yep, this is the life. Thankful Kisses, Chester
BEAR'S ORIGINAL STORY: I spent 7 long days in the shelter before I was available for WROC to come get me. The minute I was ready, WROC was there to save me. I am 3-4 years old, neutered, and 28 pounds. Yes, folks, I am a big Westie and my name Bear really suits a beautiful boy like me. I am very playful and ever so sweet. I think I am a lap dog and I love laying on my foster Dad's lap. If you are looking for a wonderful Westie, then I am your man. Bear Hugs from Bear!!!
Jojo, Adopted July 2014
I was adopted by Mom Cheryl and I love her. Here is what she says about me: "Our little girl is precious, adored by everyone in our house, and as sweet and easy as can be. What a doll. She sleeps with the rest of the pack (Princess and Bella) on my bed -- no drama, wakes up and sweetly waits to be placed down to go out to the patio for morning routine. She is really the easiest pet I have ever had, calm - wants to please and be loved - but ready to play with a toy or "throw the ball". I think she is perfect. WE all could not be happier. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!"
JOJO'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Jojo and I am 12 years old. I lost my owner and then I lost my home and it almost broke my heart. I was so very sad, it took me days to wag my tail or to want to play. But my Westie spirit prevailed and I began exploring the yard. Anyone lucky enough to adopt me will have the wisdom of my years. I go outside to go potty and do not tear up anything. I am dignified and looking for someone in my own age group so we can spend out golden years together. I have all of this love to give someone so I am waiting...patiently. XOXO Jojo
Bert, Adopted July 2014
Bert found his special forever home with Randy and Kim! Bert has come a long ways since his days at a high-kill shelter. His new folks have already discovered what we knew all along...that Bert is a happy, sweet, gentle and all around wonderful companion! Welcome home Bert!
BERT'S ORIGINAL STORY: Hello Bert!!! This cutie pie was found languishing in a high kill shelter. He was so subdued, filthy and matted that we just couldn’t leave without taking him home. He sat perfectly still while undergoing 3 hours of grooming. He must have known it was just a matter of time before his little body was free of terrible neglect. And then the cutest, sweetest little boy all of 12 lbs emerged! Bert is approximately 1 year old, neutered, current on his shots and microchipped. He loves all dogs and people and he is doing fantastic with his potty training. Bert has some pretty cute dance moves too and we keep catching him staring at himself in the mirror. He knows he looks good! Bert is anxiously waiting for his perfect family where he will feel at home.
Kailey, now Katie, Adopted June 2014
I was adopted by the most amazing Mom ever, Brandy. She drove all the way from northern California just for me. I am so happy to be so loved. My new family is exactly what I was hoping for...unconditional love for healthy and happy me!!!!!
KAILEY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I went to the beauty salon, am I gorgeous or what? I have movie star good looks! My wonderful vet pronounced me healthy & ready to go! Kailey is an active and happy 12 year old girl. She will amaze you with spunky cute personality. She is spayed, 13 pounds, and current on all her shots. She loves walking, playing with her toys and most of all her people.
Her owner passed away and sadly, the family decided not to keep her. She is a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family who will love and cherish her like she so deserves. All she needs is a chance!!
Ernie, Adopted June 2014
Ernie was adopted by Margie. While he came to WROC in Huntington Beach for a while, he found his way back to San Diego where he is living happily ever after!!!
ERNIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Once again, the San Diego shelter staff called WROC to come for another Westie...it was me!! Since San Diego is practically in WROC's backyard, my rescue angel was there in a flash. They are fixing me up with a dental cleaning and great vet care. I will have a small surgery on my eyelid and then I will be ready in no time. I am adorably cute (my foster Mom says that), 6-7 years old, and 18 pounds. I have a really cute, sweet personality and I am completely house trained. I am learning my way on my leash and am a very fast learner. I will make someone the very best pet, I promise. I would like a fun family because I am a really fun guy!! Hoping to meet you soon, Ernie
Trevi, Adopted June 2014
I have the most wonderful news...I was adopted by the most fabulous Mom in the world, Lisa. I am joining WROC's Dougie & Penny. My new Mom is a very special person, just the one I was looking for to take care of me. She is over the top kind, attentive, caring and I love her with all my heart, just like I promised. Thank you everyone who helped me along my journey, especially "Nurse Linda" for her wise counsel. I am a very very happy boy.
TREVI'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a very handsome 5-6 year old boy. I am the happiest and sweetest Westie that you could ever imagine...I love being loved, I love my toys, I love going on walks and I love giving kisses. I sleep in my very own bed right next to my foster Mom. I have had some challenges in my young life as I have been diagnosed with diabetes. My excellent vet has everything under control and I am in very good health. I am just like every other Westie only I need a specific diet and insulin shots twice a day. I would like a very special family who will take care of very special me. I will give you my heart! Trevi
Murphy, now McGee, Adopted June 2014
I was adopted by Mom & Dad, Dany & Michael. Here is what my wonderful new Mom says: "McGee is just the sweetest boy ever! When I come home he is so excited to see me he runs and grabs a toy and brings it to me, tail wagging! He snuggles happily when I pick him up, he goes upstairs when I go up and comes downstairs when I come down…he loves his walks and gets very excited for a car ride! More than one person has said this dog really won the lottery when he was placed with us, but they’re wrong. WE are the lucky ones who won the lottery when McGee decided to come live with us and let us be his forever family!"
MURPHY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a very sweet, handsome 8 year old, 20 pound, neutered Westie. As happens just too often, my family had kids and then there was not enough time for me. I am a mellow guy, love to walk, love to ride in the car, and love my people. My foster family has 2 other Westies and I really enjoy playing with them. I am an excellent all around dog. If you are looking for a perfect companion, then that would be me. XOXO Murphy
Rosie, now Misty, Adopted June 2014
My new name is Misty and my new Mom & Dad are Larkin & Duane. The second they saw me, they knew I was going to join their family. They adopted Monty Pup Pup from WROC just about 2 years ago and they found senior Rory in Oregon and nursed him back to excellent health. We are a happy family of five living the good life. Thank you WROC - Monty is so much fun!! Misty
ROSIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Rosie and I was saved from a LA county shelter. I had owner identification and had to wait for two weeks in the shelter. It was frightening, waiting and hoping, only to have no one come for me. But I am a lucky girl because WROC saw me and knew I was a pretty Westie girl under all the dirt and mats. As soon as I could go home, WROC dropped everything and drove a long way on Good Friday. I was so happy to be free and to celebrate a wonderful Easter weekend. I am happy and fun-loving without a care about my past. I am approximately 5 years old, spayed, microchipped, and current on all my shots. If you are looking a Westie princess, then I am your girl. XOXO Rosie
Raleigh, Adopted May 2014
I was adopted by Steve & Kelly and Westie Gigi. We are having a great time in our big backyard. My new Mom & Dad think that I am the greatest and they made sure that I have a whole bunch of balls to chase. Thank you WROC & Karen E for saving me. XOXO Raleigh
RALEIGH'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am tons of personality packed into a small doggie body. I can’t tell you my previous history, but I was rescued from the shelter after no one claimed me. I was severely matted and filthy and my rescuer was convinced I was a white Westie. She gave me 3 baths and discovered that all the dirt wasn’t coming off! I emerged a beautiful white & cream Cairn, a very close cousin of the Westies. My temperament is amazing. I am a playful boy who LOVES to play ball. I am approximately 5 years old, neutered and current on all my shots and now I have a microchip. I would like a home with active people who love to play, walk, and LOVE me. Oh, and I would really like a bucket full of balls!!!
McGraw, Adopted May 2014
I am so lucky, I was adopted by long time lovers of Westies and good friends of WROC, Joe & Cherie. They took one look at me and it was all over...love at first sight..it's like that with Mom. She is a very good judge of us Westies and she knew I was special. I am joining Sadie and Duffy and we are one big happy Westie family. Forever grateful, McGraw
McGRAW'S ORIGINAL STORY: I just arrived to WROC from San Diego. It is very hard to understand why so many Westies are lanquishing in the shelters in San Diego. It just took a great groom to turn me into the beautiful boy that I am. I am approximately 9-10 years old, neutered and all my shots are current. I am a gorgeous Wesite boy with a beautiful Westie spirit. I am gentle and fun and I will be the best boy ever for a family that will love me unconditionally. XOXO McGraw
Anastasia, now Annie, Adopted May 2014
I was adopted by Mom & Dad, Jennifer & Gary. They are really thrilled to have me and think that I am something very special. I am so happy and always wagging my tail. I follow Mom everywhere until my Dad comes home...I am my Daddy's little girl, what can I say? XOXOXOXO Annie
ANASTASIA'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 4 year old spayed female. I am the absolutely sweetest girl you could ever imagine. I love to sit next to my foster Dad and put my head on his shoulder. He pets me and I am in heaven. I enjoy our morning and evening walks and I LOVE WROC's Westie diet. This great food is really improving my coat.
I will need a little time to recover from minor surgery and then I will be ready for my new home. My new family will be so very lucky to get a Westie angel like me. XOXO Anastasia
Dodger, Forever Fostered by WROC, May 2014
At one time or another we’ve seen “open letters” on the internet, chastising owners for abandoning their pets; especially the ones that need them the most. Sure, we’ve wanted to send out a few of our own over the years (well, more than a few) but the reality is that we don’t have all the answers. We don’t know the story behind the story and even if we did, it would not change the condition of the dog now in our care.
Dodger was rescued from a high kill shelter and in horrible shape. He was a matted mess, with a raging ear infection, upper respiratory infection, ear polyps, gum disease, enlarged liver and a bladder tumor. Dodger spent four days in the hospital, had surgery and all his other issues addressed, and is now at home with WROC recovering. We can easily be upset, but it serves no point. Instead we focus on the dogs in our care, our friends & family who support our efforts, our donors that make our work possible.
Abigail, Forever Fostered by WROC, May 2014
Abigail was rescued from a high kill shelter and fortunately, she made her way to WROC. She came in with an upper respiratory infection and was a very sick little girl. It was a busy week for her, with many tests and specialists to evaluate her eyes and as we suspected, she has glaucoma. Yesterday, we found out that our sweet Abigail has an inoperable bladder tumor. Being with a beloved companion all the way to the end is an honor; one that we take to heart. Abigail will stay with WROC and will receive the very best medical and tender loving care. We will keep her comfortable until she let’s us know it is time.
We cater to all Westies and it’s no secret that our seniors are a driving force behind our rescue, but it’s not just seniors that need end of life care. We do this to bring a little kindness to the world. We do it because our animals need to know love. With the growing population of abandoned pets, we need and welcome foster homes so no animal goes without the love and care they need.
Mick, now Oliver, Adopted May 2014
My new Mom & Dad, Lisa & Brian, are wonderful. I am really happy. Here is what my Mom Lisa has to say: I wanted to let you know Oliver is doing just fine here in his new home! He is the sweetest dog, so calm and so patient. As you predicted, he is following me around the house everywhere I go. He is a fast learner; he knows his name, "sit" and "down" and will come when I call him. While I brush him he sits still. He is a perfect gentleman and walks so well on a leash, keeps right by my side. Annabelle is teaching him to watch for the critters and it's cute to see him learning from Annabelle how to stalk. Thank you so much for allowing us to adopt him.
MICK'S ORIGINAL STORY: Mick here, I am an absolutely stunning Westie boy, 5 years old, neutered, and current on all my shots. I am a fun loving guy, a little shy at first, but I warm up really quickly. I love to walk and I love my people. I am quite the charmer...I went to work with my foster Mom and everyone thought I was a movie star.
My favorite family will be active with lots of time to spend with me. I am so ready for my new home so give me a call if you are ready to fall (in love with me)! XOXO Mick
Maisie, Adopted April 2014
Me and my new Mom Linda are a perfect match. It is like we have been together always. I felt so comfortable walking into my new place. Ally, now Kenzie, Adopted April 2014
Ally, now Kenzie was adopted by Sandy & Alan. Mom Sandy says it best: I wanted to give to an update on our little Kenzie girl!! She is adjusting well. We are walking her daily, she is very well behaved on her leash. She is EXTREMELY loving and friendly!! She is sleeping well at night, on our bed and she loves running in and out of our doggie door. She has also learned to sit and we are now starting on "lay down". Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to have her in our lives. She fits in so well and she has LEPT right into our hearts!! We feel it was meant to be!!
ALLY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a beautiful 4-5 year old, 15 pound spayed female. I was picked up as a stray in San Diego and I am one of the lucky ones because the shelter knew to call WROC. They know that WROC has a great network and will always come for us Westies, no matter where in California we are. I am a very active little girl. I love to dance, play, run, walk and just about any other busy activity that you can imagine. I would like a family that enjoys exercise and has lots of time to spend with me. You might call me a Westie Princess because I do enjoy being the center of attention. If you would like to share my limelight, send in your application just right!! Waiting for the one, Ally
Wesley, Adopted March 2014
My new Dad Grant is a long time Westie lover. Nine years ago, his beautiful Westies Wallace & Campbell were fostered by WROC's founder and he drove all the way from San Francisco to Huntington Beach to get them. The boys were 9 and 10 years old at the time and lived a wonderful 8 years with him. When it was time, my new Dad knew who to call and history was repeated!! He took one look at me, dropped everything and jumped on a plane. He rented a car and drove me back to my new home in San Francisco and the rest is history. Dad is an interior designer and really likes studies in black & white. I did not disappoint!! I love it here and I love him. Thank you WROC for my amazing new life!!
WES' ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Wes and I am a 9 year old, 18 pound, neutered Westie. I visited the groomer and with a snip here & there, I emerged a stunning looking boy! Wow, you should hear all the oohs & aahs!! I am a strong boy in great health. I can walk for miles and love every minute of it. My foster Mom suspects that I work out because I am in such great shape. I really enjoy sharing my time with people and other dogs. I am looking forward to an active family who has plenty of time to spend with me. Drop me a line if you think I am fine!!!! XOXO Wes
Elvis, Adopted March 2014
Girls! Girls! Girls! is the 16th album by Elvis. I've got a lot of new girls in my life! Mom Francine, daughters Morgan, Gaby and Chelsey, sister Kari, and rescue Rosalee. Good thing I've got my new dad David as being the only boy in the house is a lot of pressure! My new family drove a long way just for me! Being the heart throb that I am it's no
surprise. The girls prepared for my entrance & made me my very own bowls! Now that is the superstar treatment! Thank you WROC for this amazing family. Elvis has officially left the building!
ELVIS' ORIGINAL STORY: Elvis, 2-3 year old maleElvis has left the building. The shelter building, that is! I am a little hunk of burning love and an absolute sweetheart, looking for my forever home. I'm a small 2 year old boy, all of 12 lbs, neutered, up to date with shots, microchipped and had my dental done. So if you are lonesome tonight, that's alright. Just come my way & love me tender. Once you meet me, you can't help falling in love with me.
Levi, Adopted March 2014
I bet you have heard the saying "8 is enough". Well, my new family hit the jackpot and decided "5 is enough" That's me, Levi, #5 on the left, joining Tyler, Maxie, the lovely Gina & Coach. I love this wonderfully fun family. We live so happily on our ranch with chickens, horses, birds and all kinds of wildlife (including us wild Westies!). My new life is the best because I know I will never ever be left alone. Thank you WROC for rescuing me! XO Levi
LEVI'S ORIGINAL STORY: Hi there, my name is Levi. My previous owner left me at the night drop at a local shelter. It was a frightening time for me being out all night and finding myself without my family and in a cage. But WROC came to my rescue and whisked me away to the vet. Unfortunately, I had pneumonia and spent 5 precarious days at the vet in intensive care. But I am a strong Westie and now I am relaxing in my foster home, enjoying WROC's Westie diet & Highlander Hash, and the nice people taking care of me. I am 7-8 years old, neutered, current on all my shots, microchipped, and so very HANDSOME!! If you are looking for a love bug, then I am your man.
Ming, Forever Fostered by WROC, February 2014
Our Ming has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and irregular heart beat. We are so very sad that his time with us will be limited. He is such a great dog that we made the easy decision to have him join WROC's pack. He will receive the very best care and will enjoy all of life's pleasures, whatever his little heart desires. Ming lives every moment to the fullest, enlightened and fully aware. He is our sweet and benevolent Ming. Truly amazing.
MING'S ORIGINAL STORY: Ming is a loving, sweet, and calm Westie, 4-5 years old, 17 pounds, neutered, microchipped and current on all of his shots. He is very attentive to his people & enjoys meeting and playing with other dogs. He loves basking in the warm California sun.
When we founded WROC 5 years ago, we knew that we would always go "BEYOND" Orange County with our mission to save forgotten Westies. We even knew that we would go to adjoining states to rescue our Westies...but never in our wildest dreams did we ever think we would go across oceans and continents to save a dog. But that is exactly what happened. We rescued our Ming from Taiwan. It was a very long journey, but Ming is now safe with WROC. Ming means "shining, bright, clear". He has a shining spirit, bright eyes, and a clear will to survive. He is eating delicious food (Highlander Hash is his favorite) and getting lots of love and attention. In return, he gives soft kisses and contented sighs. This is one amazing little Westie.

I sleep in a crate with a soft blanket and use the doggie door to go outside and do my business. I will stick by your side and give you Westie kisses until the sun goes down. My foster mom is excited about how smart I am and how quickly I have settled in. I get along well with my Westie foster sister as long as she doesn’t try to take my cookies. Get your application in soon! I won’t be here long. XOXO Peyton

Toys are fun too, but I especially love car rides. I am potty trained, current on my shots and just had my teeth cleaned too. A good looking fellow like me is bound to be very popular, so let me hear from you soon.

Charlee, Adopted January 2014
I was adopted by Mom & Dad, Courtney & Chris and I even have my own kid, Jack. I am so very happy in my new home at the beach. I LOVE California living!! Thank you WROC for this wonderful family. Love Charlee
CHARLEE'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Charlee and I am a 3 year old spayed female. My owner called WROC because they were moving and could not take me with them, but as you know, we Westies are resilient. I entered my foster home with confidence and style. My house training is a little rusty, but I am working on it, quite successfully I must say. I am learning to walk on a leash and trying very hard because I love going to the park with all those wonderful sights and smells.
I am a very sweet girl, I love to cuddle and will crawl into your lap given half a chance. I am current on all my shots and microchipped. I am very excited to find my new family. My biggest requirement is that you love me LOTS!!! XOXO Charlee
Snoopy, Adopted January 2014
Snoopy's letter to WROC: I am doing so very well. My new Mom & Dad, Diane & Lloyd, and my big brother, Duffy are great. Mom & Dad adopted Duffy from WROC so they know all about us Westies. We play a lot, take fun walks (today I saw a deer), and snuggle together. Last night I slept on Mom's head and she did not mind. I believed and my dreams came true. Thank you so much!! Love, Snoopy
Snoopy's letter to his previous family: It was a good day, the sun was bright and I was in the yard as always, but you let me in the house. Wow, that was a treat. I tried to be really good because it is so nice to be inside. Then you opened the car door and invited me in. Double Wow, my favorite thing, a car ride! But I sensed something was not right as we drove a while in silence, then you took me to a place I had never been. A stranger took me away as you stood at the counter, you did not pet me or even look my way. They took me to a cage with bars and locked me in. I was so frightened, I huddled in the back of the cage and I cried and cried and cried. But soon a nice man came to see me. He took me out of the cage and we walked in the sunlight. I felt ever so much better. Little did I know this was my Rescue Angel. He held me, gave me a treat, and told me everything would be okay. He made sure I got all my shots and took me to the vet. Did you know that I had a hernia and needed dental surgery? You probably never noticed that I was in pain because I never complained. So do not worry about me. I have a brand new wonderful life. I am healthier, happier, and wiser now. I am a great dog and I know what a great life is. Life began as a challenge for me, but I met it. Life is now a promise for me, I am eagerly awaiting my new family! Snoopy
